Banilla Co. Eyedol Mascara in Lucy

4 Jun

rsz_sam_4509

At first I thought “what an odd name…why not “Eyedoll” then just now it sinked…Eyedol as in Idol..heh, pretty clever. Anyways I did say on my post here that I just recently used up my then mascara. so now I am using this for roughly a week. When I was at the Banilla Co. store I was actually looking at the volumizing one but the SA suggested I get this lengthening one so I did ^^

i just love this kind of pop art…

rsz_sam_4511

What I Like:

  • doesn’t clump
  • very nice packaging
  • no distinguishable scent
  • does lengthen lashes a BIT…nothing dramatic
  • the applicator is great for lower lash as well

What I Don’t Like

  • smudges a little
  • really poor job in holding curls
  • not available locally
  • a bit pricey, 12000 krw. I know this was on sale I just can’t remember if that’s the orig or sale price…i do hope its the former ^^

overall I’m not crazy about this mascara. I really hate that it does a poor job holding my curls. Like after a couple of hours I could feel my outer end lashes sticking to my lower lashes…really irritating. I will not repurchase this.

Clio Hitch Eye-King Mascara

1 Jun

Again Clio coming up with cool names ^^ So aside from eyeliners I decided to get a mascara as well. They had 2 kinds. 1 is lengthening which is in chrome blue color and I got the volumizing one ^^
rsz_sam_4449

What I Like:

  • Waterproof
  • No smudging
  • absolutely no clumping
  • it does volumize lashes

What I Don’t Like:

  • Pricey. Php695
  • It has the rubbery smell but it’s not that strong so I guess that’s not too bad
  • It’s not very black. It looks like a dark charcoal gray but it doesn’t really matter when applied
  • like any other waterproof mascara, this is tough to remove

By the time I am posting this, it just hit it’s 3mos shelf life but the formulation is still the same and is good as new ^^ Although it does have a lot of ‘con’ I am enjoying this mascara. I wouldn’t repurchase it though because it is expensive. If you are looking for a good waterproof mascara I suggest you check it out and I’m sure you’ll like this 🙂

Review: Kiss Me Heroine Make Mascara Remover

14 Apr

Don’t you just hate it everytime you loose a lash or 2 everytime you remove stubborn mascaras?? Being Asian, I don’t have very voluminous lashes so every strand counts 😛 I have been on the hunt for the perfect mascara remover and I believe I have a candidate here:)

Pros:

  • Neatly removes mascaras, works great even with the waterproof ones
  •  Very nice packaging
  • Affordable = $10.6

Cons:

  • Not available locally. Got this from SASA
  • No English translation. I have to google how to use this.

I got this because I thought it makes sense to remove your mascara the same way you put it so I was expecting a comb like applicator since the packaging has this pic…

…but lo and behold it’s just a rod with comb like dents on it…

so I thought I’m gonna hate it but to my surprise it works fine like that since you won’t need a lot of the formula. Just put a tiny amount wait 2-3 minute and wipe off with a tissue then voila!! no mascara and no mess ^_^. So overall I like this mascara remover…I like it a lot that I only use this for my toughest mascara. I don’t wanna run out soon since this is not available locally. I will repurchase this.

btw. another thing I don’t like about this is the brand itself…it reminds me of the cartoons I watched when I was little…CANDY CANDY!

HAHAHA! not really…I was just such a tomboy even when I was little so I hated shojo manga or shojo animes. The only reason I watched this (barely) is because my sister loved it and we only had 1 TV in the house then. So to end this post, let’s watch CANDY CANDY opening theme that irritated me so much then, HAHA!

Review: Fairy Drops Mascara

9 Mar

Pros:

  •  Doesn’t smudge…absolutely
  • none clumping
  • waterproof but easy to remove
  • affordable for $12.6
  • does an ok job in holding curls
  • uber cute and stylish packaging

Cons:

  • not available locally. Got this from SASA
  • does not volumize or lengthen dramatically..if you’re a fan of that

First thing I noticed with this was the formulation. It’s really liquidy unlike most mascaras. I don’t feel any significant effect with the applicator. If you look closely on the pic above, you’ll notice fiber-like stuff sticking out everywhere. At first I was like “WTF! stupid bristles are shedding @.@!! but upon inspection it’s not so don’t freak out like I did, ok?! 🙂 Overall, I am loving this mascara ^_^. It’s by far the only waterproof mascara that I would not mind wearing everyday. I will repurchase but given it’s not available locally…I’ll probably NOT…soon at least…

Hope this was helpful,

Battle: Mascara

26 Oct

Another thing I’ll be doing a lot in this blog are the “Battles” ^_^ This is where you see popular (or not) products battle it out to see which one is better than the other 😀 I think its good to give you an overall view comparison of stuff instead of reviewing them individually. So for  our first battle we are doing Mascaras…

Covergirl LashBlast, Maybelline Volume Express and L’Oreal Telescopic Clean. All in color black and under Php500..Cause we don’t need spending much on mascaras since we are supposed to change every 3 months.

LashBlast, Volum Express, Telescopic Clean

* 1 is the highest

LashBlast Volum Express Telescopic Clean
non-clumping 1 3 2
holds curl 3 1 2
smudge proof 2 1 3
waterproof no yes no
blackest 3 2 1
scent 3 1 2
lengthening 3 1 2
volumizing 3 2 1

Last Note:
LashBlast – non-clumping and non dramatic perfect for everyday use
Volum Express – REALLY lengthening. I love the comb like applicator <3…I wish they would make more mascara wands like this
Telescopic clean – the short bristles and thin wand makes it perfect for lower lashes.

I hope this helps you choosing your next mascara. If you have more questions feel free to comment below ^_^
