Summer Ready? ^_^

23 Feb

Woohoo! 3 post in a day! somebody’s been blog crayzay!! πŸ˜› While I know people accross the globe are probably now enjoying spring, us here in the Phils are about to hit summer πŸ˜€

summah!

summah!

We only have 2 seasons here. The “WET” and “DRY” season. Both extreme, no in between. Which kinda sucks (not much clothing options). But nevertheless we enjoy our summers because of the beach and long holidays. While I haven’t booked any trips to the beach yet I’d like to share some products I suggest you include in your stash for summer πŸ™‚

summer

1. Bright Nails. Hot Pink, Yellow, Mint Green. some colors I’d like to paint my nails this summer. Right now, I only got this hot pink one from OPI. But this is a pretty common shade that I’m sure you can find anywhere. I used to own one from Face Shop

2. Fun Lips: Last year, orange was my summer lip color. It was so fun that I think I’m going to do it again this year ^_^.

3. Hot Mama: OK, this one I will be specific with the brand. The Balm Hot Mama‘s peachy pink and loads of gold shimmer is perfect if you want to go for bronze-y look this summer.

4. Fresh Scent: This summer Β you may want ditch the Eu de Toilette to body splashes πŸ™‚ A fresh fruity scent likeΒ Victoria’s Secret Pink in Cucumber & Water Lily will be a perfect match for this summers hot and humid weather.

5. Brown Eyes: Finally you may want to swap your black and bold eyeliners to brown ones. Summer is the time to swap dramatic to bright and light looks. My only brown liquid liner now is from Majolica Majorca πŸ™‚

Any items you have in mind just for this summer???

How I Remove My Make Up

28 Apr

1. I start by removing my eye makeup first since it’s the toughest and kinda smudges all over. I use a Q-tip and any oil based eye makeup remover. I’m applying it the same way I put on my eye makeup (eye liner and mascara). Oil based makeup remover is most effective for removing waterproof eye makeup. Right now, I am using Etude House One Shot Clean (not really) Mascara Remover.

2. This is optional, if I happen to wear heavy eyeshadow that day I will use the same makeup remover on a cotton pad and wipe my lids clean

about this much should do for both eyes

3. Now on the face. I start by blotting not just to remove oil in my face but also the left over oil from the eye makeup remover. I usually use the cheapest blotting sheet in the drugstore. I am using this brand called Fitness

4. And finally I applyΒ  the classic Pond’s Cold Cream all over my face with clean hands then wipe away using a makeup removing sheet. Right now, I’m using Purederm Age Defying Cleansing Tissues. I looove Purederm makeupΒ  cleansing sheets.

How do you remove your makeup??

Muji Acrylic Drawer dupe?!?!?

4 Mar

I watch a lot of “makeup collections”, “makeup organization” videos on youtube. I like seeing how girls organize their makeups and I got to admit, those type of videos made me get into these whole “makeup trying” thing. I have a small “collection” (err..I don’t know if mine qualify as “collection” since I don’t really “collect”) and organizing them AND seeing them organized has been one of my favorite stress reliever. If you are a guy or just someone NOT vain DON’T even try to understand…just leave me be, key???

One thing I see a lot in these videos are the MUJI drawers such as this:

Those girls who have this would always talk how they have SAVED so much because it’s a dupe of another acrylic drawers that was popularized by the infamous Kardashian sisters (which I’m NOT and will never be a fan of in anyways..no offense meant if you are).

But here in the Phils this MUJI drawers cost around Php1200 and that is still too much for makeup storage…at least for cheap people like me HAHA!.

But this weekend I found THIS!

This my friend cost me………..NOTHING as in 0.What is it??

.

.

.

wait for it….

.

.

.

TADANG!!

2 empty Ferrero container stacked together hehe ^_^ OK so you may not really spend “0” since a box of this would cost around Php1000 but HEY, you like get, what..48pcs of yummy chocolates plus both of these were gifted to me so I really did spend 0 on this.

Since this container is not meant to be stacked on each other they kinda get detached easily so arranging the items in the bottom container can be a challenge. For me, I just put stuff that I don’t reach for all the time like samples, backups and travel stuff.

Not as pretty as the MUJI one, pero puede di ba??? ~.^

Hope you liked it,

PhilPost/EMS…’Express’ my @$$

4 Feb

So in my previous post I did say that it took me a month before I was able to pick up my package..ok, to be fair, let’s remove a week since I had an AWESOME vacay at cebu with my HS friends WOOT! WOOT!

forgot to watermark this pic but this is mine so don't be just taking it, OK?? πŸ™‚

AND.. a rediculous work load…anyway point is, their service SUCKS! Lemme tell you why…

First, they didn’t send notice. And I’m not an isolated case…when I finally picked up my package, I met people (not ‘person’) who did not receive notice as well

Second, and for me this is the root of all the shittyness in their system or the lack there of, NO AUTOMATED SYSTEM. and I will focus on this aspect in the hopes that my little voice will be heard..

when I got there they have to trace my tracking number from their stack upon stack of parcels. I bet they don’t even have a storage system. And since it was done MANually…yeah, a man literally went through box upon box…. And when they finally found it…they didn’t send it to customs right away because they have to fill out the cart with other parcels to save effort of MANually transporting it to customs..which is like 15meters away..so if you have a guy pushing a cart loaded with boxes..that’s pretty far. So it took almost an hour to locate my package.

Customs finally. Since they line the box just however..it’s your luck if your box was lined at the farthest eventhough you were there first. So when your box is up they call your name (there’s a waiting area outside..and outside means no AC). Your parcel will be opened up infront of you for inspection conducted by a Custom officer which can be an old lady or an elderly man…. (OK. I commend Customs for giving chance to our elderly to work, but man, their slow 😦 ). And then the computing begins………..

Computing but no Computer, FML. So they bring out a calculator, a piece of paper then compute.– Ok even before I came to pickup my package, I’m aware that there will be charges (tax and whatever) so I’ve made a mental note that “Php500+” that’s it! Higher than that, they can have my package.– when the nice lady handed me my “computation” surprise, surprise, its f@#$%^g Php1080. (forgot to mention that my parcel only cost HKD59, thats Php2k+). I only know that they based the taxes on the declared amount of the sender and the type of item (accdg to the officer, cosmetics is 7% of the amount which I have no way to verify since there’s just no way these percentage of whatever is posted…not even on their website). Then theres the Php500+ of postal and handling fee. Because of all the hours I’ve wasted waiting and the effort. I just paid it anyways :(…..then there’s a Php45 for “releasing” shheeez…

Once again. Good job Phil Gov’t. I know it’s embarrassing to post this since people from other countries might read this but I just have to let it out 😦 I mean, really?? this is just were my hard earned money for tax is going?? PhilPost is not a tiny organization that our gov’t shouldn’t take notice. If today’s administration is serious on setting a good image to our country..giving PhilPost a new face would be a perfect opportunity to do so.

My Foundation Routine

8 Jan

Just sharing how I do my face (full) make up and products I’ve been using lately

yes, this many πŸ˜›

1. After my skincare routine I prime my face using Skinfood’s Black Egg Pore Primer to lock in the skin care products and also serve as a barrier between my skin and make up.

2. Conceal red pimples and pimple marks with the green concealer from Elf Studio‘s concealer palette using the concealer end of my Suesh back to back brush and Missha for my undereye (and some blemishes too ^_^), using the foundarion end of the brush to spread it out.

3. Dab on foundation using stippling brush from Elf. I love using Revlon Color Stay for full coverage. I’m in shade ‘Sand Beige’.

4. To rid off brush streaks, I spritz my Skinfood Red Orange Makeup Finish on a sponge then dab it on all over my face. This is a matte type skin finish so it helps keep my makeup long lasting. It also gives an airbrushed effect ^_^

5. Finally, I set my makeup by swiping my stippling brush with a foundation twice then lightly swipe it on the T-zone first then use what’s left for the rest of my face. I’m currently loving Maybelline’s Angelfit foundation. I’m in shade ‘Light Ocre’.

6. This one’s optional but for ‘extra glow’ I apply Benefit High Beam on the bridge of my nose, the ‘C’ shape around my eyes and temple and a tiny bit on my cupid’s bow and the area below my lips.

That’s it!

What’s your foundation routine???

Lippies for Glasses O-O

15 Nov

Do you wear glasses?? not those big nerdy ones that has become a fad for “jejes”…but the simple dark framed ones like this….

L-3.75/R-3.50 O-O

NERDY I know…butΒ  you could transform this look from nerdy to sexy…HOW?? by wearing the right lip color ^_^

Here are some color suggestion you might like..

raspberry, rouge, red

1. Rouge Color

For work, I like Clinique’s 214 in Rouge Flamboyant which is a coppery brown color. This color makes you look really confident πŸ™‚

2. Raspberry Color

Here I have Covergirl in 924 which is a raspberry with silver shimmers. I think this gives you a flirty and playful look but not too much. I think it’s perfect for school

3. Deep Red

For more dramatic and sexy look. Deep reds are perfect. Here I have Wet n Wild in 514A which also has a plum-y undertones to it.

Here are the swatches..

raspberry, rouge, red

ok…this pic is kinda fail because the raspberry looks like baby pink and the red looks like hot pink..nevertheless, here’s some celebrities to prove my point:P

emmy rossum, scarlett johansson, zoe saldana

hope you like this post,

Warning: I Ruined My BB Cream :(

13 Nov

So I bought this BB Cream a while back called Missha Watery BB Cream..if you are into BB creams you know that the manufacturers always come up with a line that is suited for those with dry skin. It’s a BB cream with more moisturizing agent (water)…kinda like tinted moisturizer. I had dry skin back then and I totally love this product. Although ‘watery’ it still had a silky powdery finish.
SO WHAT HAPPENED?!?

ok..I always have this habbit of shaking everything that is liquid. From toners, to perfume, juice drinks…ANYTHING liquid in a ‘shake-able’ container I will shake vigorously. Yep, I did shake and shake this each time I used this. It was OK at first but then the day come NO PRODUCT CAME OUT BUT WATER!

please ignore other swatches πŸ˜›

….yeah…it’s totally ruined now 😦 I just wasted Php500 worth of excellent product. So warning….DO NOT SHAKE YOUR BB CREAMS!

*sigh*

Gel vs. Cream Eyeliner

29 Oct

Ok this is not actually a “BATTLE” but more of a “know how” to tell difference between a gel and a cream liner. Visually, you cannot. Unlike with pencil and liquid……..of course πŸ˜›

sorry my gel liner looks all beat up -.-

You really can’t tell unless you used it. You even can’t tell by swatching. It’s when you have applied it you can actually tell the difference . Since I’ve thrown away both boxes, I tried googling the contents of both to give this post an intellectual touch but I can’t seem to find aΒ  sufficient one so let’s just drop that and get on with WHAT-RHEN-THINKS shall we???:P

this pic doesn't help at all, just did it for the sake of swatching it:P

**lets refer to Cream Liner as CL and GL for Gel Liner since I’ll be mentioning them a lot it’ll be irritating to read πŸ˜›

1. CL is harder to work on than GL. A lot of product get in the brush and if you don’t have steady hands it could really get messy. The first times I’ve used CL I always end up with really thick and dramatic eyeliner which I don’t like. The effective way of using this is by LIGHTLY dabbing the angled brush in the jar and then using patting motion to SLOWLY build it up. It takes patience at first but it’ll get better once you get used to it of course.

GL on the otherhand is much easier to use. You can just dab the product in your lash line and glide the brush to your desired shape. GL is perfect for beginners πŸ™‚

2. If you want a ‘twinkling eye’ effect, go with the CL since it’s glossier but GL works better for smokey eyes πŸ˜€

3. CL on your brush tends to get a little tougher to clean than GL.

…I’d like to say that CL has more staying power than GL because with that swatch on the picture, when I washed my hand CL stayed clean and slick while GL was already gone. I didn’t have the same problem when applied though. It could be the brand or it’s just that my gel liner is really old and kinda dried up πŸ˜› I personally think they both have the same staying power.

that’s it! Hope this helps.
