Review: Essential Ultra Honey & Shea Butter Rich Premier Hair Mask

29 Feb

Pros:

  • Makes hair super soft and smooth
  • Mild and gentle. I do love my Creamsilk one but I always have a couple of strands fall everytime I use it. I have no similar issue with this one.
  • Makes hair less frizzy. Even seems to make my hair straighter if you like that
  • Smells oh so good 🙂
  • Affordable. Got this from SASA for $9.6

Cons:

  • Not available locally and even always out of stock at SASA

texture kinda reminds me of soya milk gone bad..i dunno 😛

Overall I am loving this hair mask. I use it once a week and I recommend it to those with frizzy hair. I will repurchase this but I might try the pink one though.

That’s it!

What’s in my Makeup Bag

26 Feb

I tend to switch up items from my makeup bag  regularly. Am not the type to stock up lipgloss upon lipgloss.Basically, I just bring whatever it is I’m wearing that day. And here’s what I have for today..

still got space in there...

First of my makeup bag…

I got this from the SM Department store almost 2yrs now for just Php100+. The character’s name is Kuromi, the antagonist from Sanrio’s My Melody. I just love that it’s black and the colorful skulls plus it looks like she’s giving the finger HAHA! I think it’s really cool and cute. I love love my makeup bag ❤ ❤

Now let’s see what’s inside..

TADANG!!

And now for my “touch up routine” which I do after lunch or before dinner..

1. Kleenex – Blotting  sheets which is THE best blotting sheet ever.

2. EOS lipbalm in Summer Fruit

3. Marinaud Retractable Brush – which I highly recommend every makeup bag should have. It’s more hygenic than sponges or the regular brush that don’t have covers that lies in your makeup bag for hours collecting bacteria 😛

4. Skin 79 BB pact – which I did a review here.

5. Maybelline Mineral Blush in Rose

6. Elf bronzer

7. Elf Shimmer Facial whip in Lilac Petal

8. Careline Lipgloss in 01

9. Lioele Metome Eraser Pen – usually for eyeliner smears.

That’s it. Please respond with what’s inside your makeup bag. I’d like to see them ^_^

Review: MILANI HD Advanced Concealer

25 Feb

Like most girls I got this because it is said to be the dupe for YSL Touche Eclat.  From the packaging to the product itself  which is AWESOME because I can never bring myself to spend thousands (in php) for another concealer HAHA. Got this for months now and I’d like to share what I think about it.

Pros:

  • have a nice brightening effect
  • lovely packaging
  • really handy and easy to use since it comes with a brush applicator
  • cheap. Around Php400.

Cons:

  • not much coverage
  • not available locally

Overall, I like this product. I got the shade 01 which I think is too light for me but that’s OK since I use this more as a highlighter than a concealer. It’s perfect since I don’t feel like using chunky illuminizers for everyday use.  I will repurchase this ^_^

Review: K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner

24 Feb

K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner 24h WP — 1 Day Tattoo– to be exact

I got this from SASA for $14. And I’ve been using this almost everyday for work eversince my SASA Haul post and I think I’ve been using it long enough to give a decent review so here it is:

Pros:

  • super easy to use. All thanks to it’s super skinny brush
  • affordable.
  • Available at all BeautyBar  stores. sells it for Php895 though, that’s like twice as expensive.
  • really light weight and travel friendly

Cons:

  • Didn’t work well for my oily lid

Overall, I am not super loving this product. It’s quite disappointing because I was super excited for this since I’ve seen a lot of beauty gurus rave about this. I don’t know maybe it’s just my lids or the Phil weather but it definitely didn’t stay for 24hrs. I know that’s expected. Probably 8hrs max which is fine for some because most people don’t wear makeup longer than that but not for me since I work on a 12hrs shift. Before my day ends, the cat eye flick is completely gone. And I am saying this because I had liquid liners that work better for me. Like my Hangfeng one that I used in my Tiffany Tutorial. I still use this though I just use a really good primer. I’ll probably not repurchase this. I am eyeing the DollyWink one or the Majolica Majorca ^_^

Review: Stila Stunning in Sayulita

18 Feb

i did promise to review this on my “Christmas Gift” post so here it is ^_^

Here are the swatches:

1. Starfish – lightest shimmer color

2. Sandbar – taupe

3. Gateway – champagne color

4. Palm Trees – golden green color

5. Playa – matte blush

6. Banderas Bay – highlight color

Pros:

  • cute and slick packaging
  • has bigass mirror
  • lovely colors
  • fairly cheap for a highend makeup. This was a gift but I think this retails for around Php700+

Cons

  • applying eye primer first is recommended to bring out it’s vibrance
  • the blush doesn’t show up on my skin tone. (i had to swatch it 3 to 4 times just to show it up in the photo)

Overall, I’m liking this palette. I read some reviews saying that these are bit chalky which I think so too so applying a good primer first is advisable. On the contrary, the blush and highlighter are really creamy. I also find it wierd that the “Starfish” and “Banderas Bay” are like dupe of each other. I’ve only used “Starfish” and “Sandbar” so far and I’m loving them. I’m also curious if “Sandbar” can be a dupe of the famous “Satin Taupe” from MAC…. does anyone know??

Cheers,

Hair Routine 2011…A Hair Production Number LOL :p

5 Feb

cause I used a dozen products last year….literally. And I still  do…

Presenting…..

TADANG!!!!!!

My 2011(upto current for some products) Hair Routine. Let’s start counting…

1. Pantene Nature Care Shampoo

2. L’Oreal HairSpa

Use this regularly instead of conditioner. I also mentioned that when I did a review on this.

3. PureBeauty Treatment Hair Care Oil

Hair serum for mid day hair touch ups.

4. PureBeauty Treatment Essence Water

Since I only wash my hair everyother day, I use this on days I did not.

5. L’Oreal Total Repair5 Night Essence

I use this on nights I know I’m not gonna shampoo the next day. This one’s fairly new though. I used the other variant (shucks, totally forgot whats it called, basta it’s the citrus-y smelling one) which I like better than this.

I use these once a week (usually on weekends)

6. Pantene Nature Care Conditioner

...after I shampoo, of course...

7. Cream Silk Precision Repair Treatment (hair mask )

…..more products….

8. TonyMoly Silky Glaze

for extra bounce. did a review on this here.

9. Sunsilk Style Curls & Waves Bounce (styling mousse/heat protectant)

my all time fave hair mousse EVERRRR!!!!

10. L’Oreal Studio Hot Straight Straightening Cream (heat protectant)

sorry this has been discontinued…I think…

11. Shine Moist Polishing Mist (hair spray)

sorry this looks all dirty 😛

You can’t expect any strong hold on this though. I just use this for my baby hairs when I tie my hair to a ponytail anyways.

12. Beach Hut Hair and Scalp Clear Spray Sunblock

it’s all murky now because I think this is about to expire 😛

whew! just comment below if you have questions on any of the products.

PhilPost/EMS…’Express’ my @$$

4 Feb

So in my previous post I did say that it took me a month before I was able to pick up my package..ok, to be fair, let’s remove a week since I had an AWESOME vacay at cebu with my HS friends WOOT! WOOT!

forgot to watermark this pic but this is mine so don't be just taking it, OK?? 🙂

AND.. a rediculous work load…anyway point is, their service SUCKS! Lemme tell you why…

First, they didn’t send notice. And I’m not an isolated case…when I finally picked up my package, I met people (not ‘person’) who did not receive notice as well

Second, and for me this is the root of all the shittyness in their system or the lack there of, NO AUTOMATED SYSTEM. and I will focus on this aspect in the hopes that my little voice will be heard..

when I got there they have to trace my tracking number from their stack upon stack of parcels. I bet they don’t even have a storage system. And since it was done MANually…yeah, a man literally went through box upon box…. And when they finally found it…they didn’t send it to customs right away because they have to fill out the cart with other parcels to save effort of MANually transporting it to customs..which is like 15meters away..so if you have a guy pushing a cart loaded with boxes..that’s pretty far. So it took almost an hour to locate my package.

Customs finally. Since they line the box just however..it’s your luck if your box was lined at the farthest eventhough you were there first. So when your box is up they call your name (there’s a waiting area outside..and outside means no AC). Your parcel will be opened up infront of you for inspection conducted by a Custom officer which can be an old lady or an elderly man…. (OK. I commend Customs for giving chance to our elderly to work, but man, their slow 😦 ). And then the computing begins………..

Computing but no Computer, FML. So they bring out a calculator, a piece of paper then compute.– Ok even before I came to pickup my package, I’m aware that there will be charges (tax and whatever) so I’ve made a mental note that “Php500+” that’s it! Higher than that, they can have my package.– when the nice lady handed me my “computation” surprise, surprise, its f@#$%^g Php1080. (forgot to mention that my parcel only cost HKD59, thats Php2k+). I only know that they based the taxes on the declared amount of the sender and the type of item (accdg to the officer, cosmetics is 7% of the amount which I have no way to verify since there’s just no way these percentage of whatever is posted…not even on their website). Then theres the Php500+ of postal and handling fee. Because of all the hours I’ve wasted waiting and the effort. I just paid it anyways :(…..then there’s a Php45 for “releasing” shheeez…

Once again. Good job Phil Gov’t. I know it’s embarrassing to post this since people from other countries might read this but I just have to let it out 😦 I mean, really?? this is just were my hard earned money for tax is going?? PhilPost is not a tiny organization that our gov’t shouldn’t take notice. If today’s administration is serious on setting a good image to our country..giving PhilPost a new face would be a perfect opportunity to do so.
