Review: Sephora Buildable Cover Kit (Tan)

17 Dec

I had this for almost a year now and I’m about to hit pan so I decided it’s just about time I ‘feature’ this product in my blog ^_^

Kit Includes:

  • Mineral Foundation
  • Concealer
  • Primer
  • Concealer Brush
  • Powder Brush
  • Double Sided Sponge

I’ll do my review collectively because it wld take a very long post to review each obviously. Just shoot me a comment if you have questions.

ok, i see that "about to hit the pan" earlier is an understatement -.-

  • Smooth coverage
  • I LUUURVVE the concealer. It’s my favorite EVURRRR!! love the matte-but-not-cakey finish. Excellent coverage ❤
  • If you’re from the US the price is definitely a pro because you are apparently getting $78 worth of products for $34…and that was a year ago. Now, its $22 $.$

  • I am also loving the primer ^_^ REALLY smooth and silky application but NOT AT ALL oily. Really mattifies my face and preps my face for smoother foundation application. It’s just travel size though (0.27 oz), but that just makes it perfect if you need a primer on the go ^_^

  • Not available locally
  • The foundation is a tad bit darker for my liking (I’m a morena but on the lighter side, kinda like Toni Gonzaga back in the days)
  • man, she's so white now. boo! hate bein kayumanggi, girl?? not cool

  • The brush are too small but that makes it OK for travel. Haven’t used mine though so I really can’t tell how they work, sorry

abt the sponge: you are supposed to use the light side for light coverage and dark one for fuller coverage

Overall, it’s a very good product. Just how you wld expect a high end product should be. However, I don’t see myself repurchasing this because aside from the fact that it’s not available here in the Phils, there was a time that I THINK I broke out from this…not sure though. But I’m quite curious how the “Light” color would look on me ^_^

Review: Purederm Ginkgo Eye Patches

15 Dec

From one eyecare product to another 😛

Actually its Purederm Botanical Choice Eye Puffiness Minimizing Ginkgo Patches (*Whew*)…

Each pack contains 4 patches (2 pairs)..

  • Affordable
  • Available in all Watson’s store
  • Nice packaging

  • Did nothing for my eyes. I am saying this because one thing I learned from reading beauty blogs is that masks gives an “instantaneous effect”. Of course its not like your puffy eyes will disappear after using 1 time, but the feeling should be there and I am saying this in comparison to the eyemask that I previously used (which weird because it’s from the same company…and I do have to blog about that because I love that eyepatch).

Overall again I don’t like this product. The 1st thing I noticed is the lack of essence which I find very weird for a mask/patch. I will not repurchase this.

Gosh I hope my next review is a positive one…

Review: Pure Beauty Pomegranate Antioxidant Eyecream

14 Dec

  • Very affordable. Php109
  • Available in all Watson’s store

  • kinda smells like beer
  • it did nothing for my eyes, but I guess I should’ve expected much for it’s price. Plus they never promised anything. There’s no “Removes Puffyness” or “Brightens Dark Circles”…

Overall I am not liking this product. The 1st thing I noticed was that the product doesn’t sip in the skin. I am not repurchasing this.

A short but sweet review from yours truly,

Review: Garnier Light B.B

11 Dec

I’ve been using Garnier Light Eye Roll-on for so long now that’s why when this came out it didn’t take me long to get it.  I was surprised because what is this actually is undereye concealer. Duh, the “BB” and “instant fairness” shld’ve given it away if I weren’t  being such a dummy. so that kinda bummed me because the last thing I need is another concealer -.-‘ Nevertheless I tried it out and here’s what I gotta say about it..

  • dries to a powdery finish
  • better that your ordinary concealer because of the presence of “pure lemon essence and mineral pigments”
  • affordable. only Php229
  • available in all drugstore and even groceries to ^_^

  • only 1 shade available
  • dries a little too fast so better blend it right away

Overall I like this product. If you are looking for a new eye concealer, I highly recommend you get this. It has an OK coverage and I don’t think it’s buildable too. So I’m not sure it wld work out if you try concealing your dark spots with this.

together with my Garnier Light Eye Roll On

that’s it…now I’ll watch the Machida vs Jones fight, woot! woot!…………….. what?!?…….:P

Review: L’Oreal Hairspa

4 Dec

I think I’ve mentioned this before that instead of using conditioner regularly, I use treatments like hotoil and hairspa instead. Right now I am using a hairspa from L’Oreal and I am loving it ^_^

How I use it: the very first step when I get ready in the morning is to wash my hair with shampoo then towel dry before applying a generous amount of L’Oreal Hairspa. Then I just put my hair in a shower cap and do the rest of my morning routine (including morning prayers and breakfast ^_^), brushing my teeth then washing my face and body…then I rinse my hair lastly. So the thought there is leaving it on my hair for more or less 20 mins. And also, I don’t rinse it to the point that all the product is COMPLETELY washed off. I like that my hair is still tad bit slippery with the product after^_^

  • makes my hair really soft and smooth
  • smells nice
  • there’s an extra lid after the cover

  • not commercially available. You cld get this in SOME salon. If a salon offers a L’Oreal X-Tenso treatment, it is most likely that they have this
  • the price. Php1500. Actually its not that bad. Just look at the size of this baby in my hands. Its humongous! This could last you for 6months… probably more depending on how frequent you wash your hair.

Overall: I like this product and I would definitely repurchase. FAST! because I just run out of it.=(

Review: Proactiv 3-Piece System

3 Dec

I realized I haven’t posted anything acne related yet so for today I decided to talk about my Proactiv experience HAHA! OK this may seem irrelivant if you are someone from other countries because it’s such a popular product — heck! in the US they even sell this in vending machines — but here in the Philippines people are still skeptic.  Before we start let me tell you a little something about my skin first.

My skin now is oily and really acne prone. I don’t have a pimple infested face but I always have 1 humongous pimple showing up one after another which hurts like hell and always leave an ugly scar.

This is the 60 day kit 3 piece system composed of a Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Toner and Repairing Treatment. That is designed for morning and night time use everyday. I won’t go thru all the ingredients of each but I would just like to say that it’s main content is Benzoyl Peroxide.

How To Use:

Start of with the Renewing Cleanser, massaging it to a wet face for 1-2 mins before rinsing. After drying my face with a face tissue I apply the Revitalizing Toner using a cotton pad then I let the product sink in for a few seconds before applying the Repairing Treatment. There’s also a Refining Mask that can be used twice a week. Just add this step in between cleanser and toner.

  • Effective
  • Available in all major malls
  • the cleanser is really gentle. If you’ve tried a baking soda mask it kinda feels the same.
  • I used to think that it’s quite expensive for Php3995 but if  you think you’re getting 3 products (4 actually you also get a Refining Mask in every kit) it’s actually not that bad
  • As mentioned above it comes with a free mask a mini moisturizer and an info sheet which I storngly advise you read. It helped me understand the “acne” dilemma more.
  • The mask can also be used as spot treatment for pimples.

i haven't tried this one yet so there's nothing for me to say except that its soooo tiny 😛

  • The toner and most specially the treatment is quite stingy so you may want to consult your dermatologist first if you have a highly sensitive skin.
  • The mask have an unpleasant smell

Overall: This product really worked for me. Actually this is my 2nd kit already the 1st one didn’t work because I didn’t use it right. I had a 30 day kit then and imagine, after a month of continious use I was not even halfway done the product. I don’t have pimples as of the moment considering I just transitioned to a night from a day shift job now. I heard a lot of people complaining that it made them sensitive to sun but I haven’t experienced that since I rarely get into the sun 😛 Some also say it gave them premature wrinkles but I don’t know about that either. Although Proactiv doesn’t advise using other products with this, I still use moisturizer, anti acne serums and sun screens so I guess that just applies for products of same purpose:)

Disclaimer Time: I am not a dermatologist and way far from being a skin expert. My opinions are personal and based on my OWN experience with the product. So what works for me may have other effects on you. And also I am not sponsored by Proactiv to do this review.
