Review: Suesh Back to Back End Brush Set

29 Oct

If you are a fan of Youtube Makeup Gurus you’ve probably seen this type of brush. Β  Eco Tools used to have this I believe which…again… is not available here in the Philippines. Online shops would sell it for around Php1k+. DollFace sells one for Php950 and I was thiiiiis close on buying it. Good thing I didn’t because I found THIS πŸ™‚

They are from Suesh and they’re only Php450. They are combination of Powder Blush/Angled brush, Eyeshadow brush/Angled Contour Brush and Foundation/Concealer Brush (my fave ^_^. I actually got this set because of this)

  • good quality. Doesn’t shed.
  • very cheap. they are probably the exact same as the DollFace one. I even don’t have to spend on shipping since I got mine from Trinoma πŸ˜€

  • except for the foundation/concealer brush, the bristles are kind of rough for my liking. (generally, they’re OK…maarte lang ako:P)

Packaging: No where does it says they are from Suesh. The 2nd paragraph of the contouring instruction referred the brush as “Savvy Essential Brushes” so it could be that and Suesh is just distributing it here.

BTW. If you are a makeup artist or an aspiring one, you gotta check out Suesh. Aside from brushes they also sell cool train cases πŸ˜€ Check out their site here:

BTW2. I am in no way paid by Suesh or any other product company I review…..I wish they do though :P…..ASA:p

Review: TonyMoly Silky Glaze

29 Oct

My hair is rebonded and I just got an octopus cut to give it shape and volume. It did achieve that but I want more volume so I’ve been desperately searching for a hair volumizer. Something like the Got 2B fat which unfortunately not available here in the Philippines…even online. What weΒ  have here are volumizing wax, mousse, hairspray…I need something I can use everyday.

Last week I was at TONYMOLY in Megamall and I found this πŸ˜€

what's up the the non-Asian looking model?? πŸ˜›

  • It do feel there’s a boost in my hair
  • fairly cheap for around Php400….or less I think. sorry I threw the receipt without taking note of the price 😦
  • Can be used everyday since it’s in a mist formulation

  • No English instruction
  • I don’t like the smell. Smells like a really cheap shampoo from some beat down salon in your “kanto-kanto”. It’s tolerable though
  • The “umph” effect doesn’t last very long. Probably just a few seconds after using

Packaging: this is probably my biggest disappointment with this product. Asian brands are known to have very cute packaging and if you’ve been in a TONYMOLY shop you know they kinda stepped up in that area more but WTF is with this really cheap looking bottle…..

…. I do like this lock thingy on the spritzer though…very very good ^_^

that’s it pancit!

Gel vs. Cream Eyeliner

29 Oct

Ok this is not actually a “BATTLE” but more of a “know how” to tell difference between a gel and a cream liner. Visually, you cannot. Unlike with pencil and liquid……..of course πŸ˜›

sorry my gel liner looks all beat up -.-

You really can’t tell unless you used it. You even can’t tell by swatching. It’s when you have applied it you can actually tell the difference . Since I’ve thrown away both boxes, I tried googling the contents of both to give this post an intellectual touch but I can’t seem to find aΒ  sufficient one so let’s just drop that and get on with WHAT-RHEN-THINKS shall we???:P

this pic doesn't help at all, just did it for the sake of swatching it:P

**lets refer to Cream Liner as CL and GL for Gel Liner since I’ll be mentioning them a lot it’ll be irritating to read πŸ˜›

1. CL is harder to work on than GL. A lot of product get in the brush and if you don’t have steady hands it could really get messy. The first times I’ve used CL I always end up with really thick and dramatic eyeliner which I don’t like. The effective way of using this is by LIGHTLY dabbing the angled brush in the jar and then using patting motion to SLOWLY build it up. It takes patience at first but it’ll get better once you get used to it of course.

GL on the otherhand is much easier to use. You can just dab the product in your lash line and glide the brush to your desired shape. GL is perfect for beginners πŸ™‚

2. If you want a ‘twinkling eye’ effect, go with the CL since it’s glossier but GL works better for smokey eyes πŸ˜€

3. CL on your brush tends to get a little tougher to clean than GL.

…I’d like to say that CL has more staying power than GL because with that swatch on the picture, when I washed my hand CL stayed clean and slick while GL was already gone. I didn’t have the same problem when applied though. It could be the brand or it’s just that my gel liner is really old and kinda dried up πŸ˜› I personally think they both have the same staying power.

that’s it! Hope this helps.

Haul: Watsons

28 Oct

here in the Philippines, 'Watsons' is (usu)located inside SM dept store

I LOVE shopping at Watsons…it’s a one stop shop for your every beauty need. Here are pictures from a recent haulage^_^

its amazing how much drugstore stuff you cld buy from the price of a single highend makeup ^_^

Hair Stuff:

Golden Fabulouz Coconut Hot Oil Cream–Β  Here’s a thing about me…I don’t use conditioner regularly, instead..I use hair spa or hot oil creams. Got these 2 150g jar for Php99. Yup. It’s on ‘buy 1 take 1 promo’ so I didn’t have a choice HAHA! I might giveaway the other jar…you like?? ^_^

Another thing about my ‘haircare’ is that I just use the cheapest shampoos out there. So since Palmolive shampoo is a ‘Cosmo Awardee’, I just got that πŸ™‚

Pure Beauty Treatment Hair Care Oil (Php183 for 60ml) which is just a hair serum. I’ve always wanted to buy this eversince I got the Pure Beauty Treatment Essence Water one. And because I think the packaging is just lovely ❀ I might do a review on both products in the future ^_^

Wet n Wild Color Icon in Pride (Php499)-I’ve been itching to get this eversince I got the ‘Vanity’ one plus I think the navy blues here will be great for smokey eyes and since I have a wedding to attend to next month, I think its about time I finally get this ^_^

4U2 Gemtone in Onyx (Php424) which is just a basic grays quad. It kinda have a metallic sheen to it which I thinkΒ  would also work in the smokey eyes I am planning to do^_^

Fashion 21 single eyeshadow (Php65)Β  There’s a ‘backup look’ I’m planning just in case the smokey eye I’m planning would not work with these products. It involves the green in the Wet n Wild pride and an orange eyeshadow…intrigued???:P

Careline lipgloss in shade 01 which is just a natural pink color. I’d really wanted to collect all their lipglosses because I love the clear one I bought months ago. They are uber cheap (Php75) but I changed my mind because I can’t stand the smell -.-‘. The color’s very nice though, so if you are not that “maarte” with scents then I highly recommend Careline Lipglosses:)

Careline Glitter Liner in Clear. I’ve been wanting to do the ‘teary eyed’ look which is famous in Asia nowadays so I’ve been searching for tthe perfect glitter liner. I wanted to get the Mojolica Majorca one around Php500 thenΒ  Etude House Php300+ BUT luckily I saw this which costs Php105 ^_^ WINNER!!!

Pure Beauty Soothing BB Cream. I know I just did a review on the Skin79 one and I am STILL using that but I need another one for backup. I was searching for a cheap oneΒ  so I got this for Php199. At first I wasn’t expecting much for it’s price but changed right after I tried it out. I will do a separate review on this πŸ˜€

Pure Beauty Eyecream (Php109). I am currently using Olay Total Effects eyecream but again, I just needed something cheap for backup. The packaging reminds me of the TonyMoly one… actually the whole line does. I’m thinking of getting all for future giveaway…you like?? πŸ˜€

PH Care Intimate wash… doI need to elaborate in this??? πŸ˜›

And because I spent Php1500+ on shopping so they gave me this tumbler and magazine for free πŸ˜€

Let me know if you want a more detailed review of the products mentioned.

Battle: Mascara

26 Oct

Another thing I’ll be doing a lot in this blog are the “Battles” ^_^ This is where you see popular (or not) products battle it out to see which one is better than the other πŸ˜€ I think its good to give you an overall view comparison of stuff instead of reviewing them individually. So forΒ  our first battle we are doing Mascaras…

Covergirl LashBlast, Maybelline Volume Express and L’Oreal Telescopic Clean. All in color black and under Php500..Cause we don’t need spending much on mascaras since we are supposed to change every 3 months.

LashBlast, Volum Express, Telescopic Clean

* 1 is the highest

LashBlast Volum Express Telescopic Clean
non-clumping 1 3 2
holds curl 3 1 2
smudge proof 2 1 3
waterproof no yes no
blackest 3 2 1
scent 3 1 2
lengthening 3 1 2
volumizing 3 2 1

Last Note:
LashBlast – non-clumping and non dramatic perfect for everyday use
Volum Express – REALLY lengthening. I love the comb like applicator <3…I wish they would make more mascara wands like this
Telescopic clean – the short bristles and thin wand makes it perfect for lower lashes.

I hope this helps you choosing your next mascara. If you have more questions feel free to comment below ^_^

Review: Skin 79 Hot Pink BB Cream & Compact

10 Oct

But first let me start by showing you some pic from my latest Asian makeup haul on Ebay and let me know which one wld you like me to do a review on ^_^

actually its just Skin 79, Skinfood and wire headband which is really of poor quality πŸ˜›

Skinfood Black Egg Pore Primer, Skinfood Red Orange Makeup Finish, Skin79 BB Cream, Skin79 Beblesh Pact, wire headband and loads of samples ^_^

Now on with the review……

Let’s start with the Skin79 BB Cream. Since this is a popular product I wld not waste this precious space anymore describing WHAT product is.

this is enough for my whole face

Php900 for 40g

a pea size is enough to cover my whole face. I know some beauty gurus say it is too light on them so that worried me and when Iswatched it in my hands it looked really gray….*f*ck! ….BUT when I applied it on my face, it looked really light at first but after a few seconds, I was surprised it matches me really well ^_^

It promises Triple Funtions: Whitening, Wrinkle Improvement and Ultraviolet rays interception (or sun protection :P)

  • Really light weight… allows your skin to breath
  • No strong smell…if you prefer that
  • Doesn’t oxidize
  • SPF25 PA++

  • You may need concealer if you have uber dark spots like me
  • Only one shade available
  • Not available in Manila

Now on to the not so popular Skin79 Beblesh Pact….

Php760 for 15g.....but I got mine on sale for Php608^_^

While the BB Cream promises 3 solutions this one just promises sun protection…nothing more:P

  • Really light weight. Let’s your skin breath. It seems like I can never over apply with this one
  • Not chalky at all
  • No strong smell
  • SPF30 PA++

  • same cons asΒ  BB crem

Packaging for Both…

  • Really Hygenic. I’m kinda skeptical with the ‘pump style’ of the BB cream but surprisingly…it’s not messy at all. And as for the compact, if you noticed in the picture above, there’s a plastic lid separating the applicator from the powder itself and that’s always verygood πŸ˜€
  • Has clear expiration date…it wld be nicer if it’s in the product itself..but that’s OK anyways πŸ˜€
  • Has English, Korean, Japanese and Chinese content list (English only for the pact)
  • And of course if you are crazy over pink you’ll definitely love this ^_^

Overall I highly recommend both for everyday wear:) Though each are excellent product on it’s own, if you like setting your bb cream with powder why not get it’s wife anyways ^_^

btw.there are lot’s of fake Skin79 BB Creams out there so be careful when buying. Here’s a useful post ^_^. I bought mine at an Ebay seller called bhappywithme. I’ve been buying Asian makeup from her for 2yrs now and I am satisfied so far πŸ˜€ she loves giving out samples for every purchase….really, it’s like she’s desperate to dispose her samples and decided to dump everything on me HAHA!!!
